1. Stage Coach Stop Marker
Inscription. Home of Abner Amstell, a pioneer who came to this area in 1805. He was elected poundmaster at the first town meeting in 1812. This home was a tavern and first stop for stage coaches along the Erie Road from Buffalo.
 
Erected 1971 by Erie County Sesquicentennial Committee.
 
Location. 42° 44.746′ N, 78° 54.212′ W. Marker is in Hamburg, New York, in Erie County. Marker is at the intersection of Lake Shore Road (New York State Route 5) and Roberts Road, on the left when traveling west on Lake Shore Road. Click for map.
