1. Whetzel Trace Marker
 
Inscription. A Trail from Whitewater River at Laurel terminated here at the Bluffs of White River. Cut in 1818 by Jacob Whetzel, it was the first east-west road into central Indiana.
 
Erected 1955 by National Society of the Colonial Dames of America in the State of Indiana. (Marker Number 55.1957.1.)
 
Marker series. This marker is included in the Indiana State Historical Bureau Markers marker series.
 
Location. 39° 33.192′ N, 86° 16.49′ W. Marker is in Waverly, Indiana, in Morgan County. Marker is on Old State Road 37 North 0.1 miles south of Central Ave, on the right when traveling north. Click for map. Marker is in this post office area: Martinsville IN 46151, United States of America.
