1. Oriskany Sand Marker
Inscription. The pure massive sandstone forming the Warm Springs Ridge is the Oriskany of the driller and geologist. The "Oriskany Sand," an important gas Sand, has produced in excess of a trillion cubic feet of gas in West Virginia.
 
Erected 1963 by The West Virginia Centennial Committee of the Oil and Natural Gas Industry, West Virginia Historical Commission.
 
Location. 39° 30.217′ N, 78° 17.817′ W. Marker is in Cacapon, West Virginia, in Morgan County. Marker is on Cacapon Lodge Drive one mile west of Valley Road (U.S. 522). Click for map. Marker is in this post office area: Berkeley Springs WV 25411, United States of America.
