1. County Fairgrounds Marker
Inscription. Organized in 1851 with land purchased in 1865. Agricultural exhibits and one half mile harness race track with grandstand operated until 1932.
 
Erected 2002 by Carmel Chamber of Commerce.
 
Location. 41° 25.734′ N, 73° 40.343′ W. Marker is in Carmel, New York, in Putnam County. Marker is on Fair St (County Route 60) just east of Gleneida Ave (New York State Route 52), on the left when traveling west. Click for map.
