1. Pearl Street / Ott Street Marker
Inscription. Originally located between Granada Avenue and Church Street during Arizona's territorial period, "Post Office Street," was where postmaster and mayor, Mark Aldrich (b.1801 – d.1873) lived and worked. The southwestern half of the street was alternatively called Pearl Street after a madam who ran a brothel south of Pennington Street. In 1872, the name was changed to Ott Street to honor Sheriff Hylor Ott (b.1830-d.1881).
 
Erected 2013 by City of Tucson Historic Preservation Office.
 
Location. 32° 13.293′ N, 110° 58.55′ W. Marker is in Tucson, Arizona, in Pima County. Marker is at the intersection of West Congress Street and North Granada Avenue, on the right when traveling west on West Congress Street. Click for map. Marker is mounted horizontally in the sidewalk on the northeast corner of the intersection. Marker is in this post office area: Tucson AZ 85701, United States of America.
