| | | 1. Hillside Mission Historical Marker | | | Inscription. Established by Rev. John Murdock, under auspices of Friends Society, 1882. This noted school was attended by both Indian and white children. In this vicinity, was home of Wm. C. Rogers, last elected principle chief of Cherokee Nation, 1903 to 1917. His grave, and that of George Tyner, Cherokee, are in Mission Cemetery. Erected 1995 by Oklahoma Historical Society. (Marker Number 175.) Location. 36° 25.399′ N, 95° 59.16′ W. Marker is near Skiatook, Oklahoma, in Osage County. Marker is on North Garrison Avenue 0 miles south of East 186th St. North (East 0410 Rd), on the left when traveling south. Click for map.
