1. Town of Clarence - Ransom's Grove Marker
Inscription. First settlement in Town on Clarence (and second in Erie County) made near this site in 1799 by Asa Ransom. Birthplace of Harry B. Ransom, first white male child on Holland Purchase. Joseph Ellicott opened Holland Land Company Office here at Ransom's Tavern in 1801. Plaque erected by Clarence Jaycees in 1964 for Historical Society of the Town of Clarence
