1. "The Bear and the Cub" Marker
 
Inscription. Probable site of Fowkes’ Tavern where this first recorded play in English America was performed August 27, 1665.
 
Erected 1988 by Virginia Historic Landmarks Commission. (Marker Number WY 18.)
 
Location. 37° 38.123′ N, 75° 48.364′ W. Marker is in Pungoteague, Virginia, in Accomack County. Marker is on Bobtown Road Rt 178 0.2 miles north of St. George Circle, on the right when traveling north. Click for map. Marker is in this post office area: Pungoteague VA 23422, United States of America.
