Inscription. Site of Civil War home of Charles Étienne Arthur Gayarré Louisiana historian, lawyer, judge, legislator, & Secretary of State, 1846-1853. Grandson of Étinne de Boré.
 
Erected 1959 by the Louisiana Department of Commerce and Industry.
