Inscription.
Home of John Ellison, erected 1754 by William Bull for Col. Thomas Ellison. Used various times between 1779-1783 by Generalís Knox, Greene & Gates during the Revolutionary War.

3. Ellison House
The house of John and Catharine Ellison served as the headquarters of several high-ranking officers in the Continental Army. Gen. Henry Knox stayed here four different times late in the war. Gen. Nathanael Greene, Maj. Gen. Horatio Gates and Dr. John Cochran also made use of this house.
