Built at a cost of 33 according to an indenture between Thomas Barber and The Town
This site was chosen by lot at a solemn mmting of May 24th 1683 thus ending a controversy that had continued for a period of twelve years
 
Erected 1935 by Abigail Phelps Chapter D.A.R.
 
Location. 41° 52.507′ N, 72° 48.128′ W. Marker is in Simsbury, Connecticut, in Hartford County. Marker can be reached from the intersection of Hopmeadow Street (Connecticut Route 10) and Station Street, on the right when traveling south. Click for map. Located in Simsbury Cemetery.
