1. Walter C. Sanger Marker
Inscription. Known as "Wooden Shoes" he was the "Bicycling King" of the nineties and the American Speed Champion at sprint distances. He won 100 races as an amateur and 35 as a professional, including 13 international events. Born, March 13, 1873, at Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Elected 1961.
 
Erected 1963 by Presented to the Hall of Fame by Morris Chalfen-Producer Holiday on Ice Shows, Inc.
