1. Paris Marker
Inscription. This site marks the first call for survey of the city of Paris, Republic of Texas, 1844. Geo. W. Wright, early settler, soldier in Texas War for Independence, congressman of the Republic, donated 50 acres of land for Lamar County Seat. Plat of lots, blocks and streets was drawn, and from that beginning grew the present city.
 
Erected 1965 by State Historical Survey Committee. (Marker Number 8214.)
 
Location. 33° 39.766′ N, 95° 33.525′ W. Marker is in Paris, Texas, in Lamar County. Marker is at the intersection of 3rd Street NW and West Price Street, on the left when traveling south on 3rd Street NW. Click for map.
