1. The Christian Church Marker
Inscription. This church was built in 1891 by Gen. William T. Withers. The General died before the construction was completed, but Mrs. Withers finished the job in her husband's honor. The land was donated by Cpt. Sims. The church is Gothic architecture. The stained glass memorial windows came into Ocoee on ox-cart, after being brought from Belgium to Sanford, FL. by ship. It is the oldest Christian Church building in continual use in Florida.
