José Moreno venía de Rosario, Sinaloa, así como tambien su mujer María Guadalupe Pérez. José y María se casaron el 18 de septiembre de 1780, justo antes de comenzar su largo viaje para ir a fundar Los Angeles. La familia Moreno tuvo éxito en la argicultura en Los Angeles y vivió en el Pueblo por muchos años. José Moreno falleció en 1809, mientras que Guadalupe Pérez sobrevivió hasta 1960, y murió a la edad de cerca de 100 años, convirtiéndose en la última de los pobradores adultos originales en fallecer.
