The main building to the Kristiania Tivoli was located here, 1890-1934. In the billiards salon above the gate, Bokken Lasson (1871-1970) opened the cabaret «Chat Noir» on March 1, 1912. The theater moved in 1919.

Copenhagen, but compared to Copenhagen Tivoli's 80-acre site, Christiania Tivoli was relatively small. In the area there were, among other things, restaurants, dance venues and theater stages. Before Christiania Tivoli was established, there was another amusement park in the same area, called Klingenberg. In 1937, the entire area was demolished, as a result of the redevelopment of Pipervika and the construction of Oslo City Hall.

2. Bokken Lasson (Wikipedia).
Overview: Caroline "Bokken" Lasson (7 January 1871 – 3 August 1970) was a Norwegian concert and cabaret singer. She is known for starting the Oslo cabaret Chat Noir in 1912, and also for introducing the children's song "Tuppen og Lillemor" to the Norwegian public.

The Tivoli Gate was erected by Jacobsen in 1890. The building is today replaced by Høyres Hus.
