Regarding Hollywood High School. Hollywood High School is NOT a California Historical Landmark. It is on the California Register of Historical Resources, and it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2012. Bronze plaques were placed on the auditorium, library, and science and liberal arts buildings.
In 1921, the school chose its mascot, the Sheik, based on the Rudolph Valentino film.
