Bygd som Schieldrops Hotel, overtatt av Arbeidernes Faglige Landsorganisasjon i 1919. Ble deretter kalt Folkets Hus og brukt til kafé, møtelokaler, selskapslokaler.
Fra 1947 til 1957 holdt Skansen Kino til her. I 1993 ble huset solgt og ombygd til skole. Det ble fornyet innvendig, men husets opprinnelige arkitektoniske særpreg fasader og trappeoppganger ble bevart og poengtert.

Bygd as Schieldrops Hotel, taken over by the workers' professional national organization in 1919. Was then called the People's House and used for café, meeting rooms, banqueting rooms.
From 1947 to 1957, Skansen cinema was here. In 1993, the house was sold and rebuilt to school. It was renewed inside, but the house's original architectural distinctive facades and stairwells were preserved and pointed out.
