Built in 1791, the building on the Steinweg was destroyed by bombs in the 1944 air raids on Frankfurt. Afterwards a cinema, and later, the Hugendubel bookstore were constructed on the site.... Especially in the 19th century the Swan was a ranking European luxury hotel. Of particular historical significance was the signing of the Treaty of Frankfurt at the hotel on May 10, 1871, bringing the Franco - Prussian War to an end. (Submitted on December 6, 2016.)
