1. The Oxford-University Depot Marker
Inscription. Built in 1872 by the Mississippi Central R.R. (later part of the Illinois Central line), this depot replaced an earlier structure burned during the Civil War. For many years, the depot was a hub of activity for the town and the University of Mississippi. Passenger service ended in 1941. The depot was restored in 2003.
 
Erected 2006 by the Mississippi Department of Archives and History.
