1. Okolona Marker
Inscription. Founded as Rose Hill 1845. Chartered as Okolona 1850. Named for Chickasaw Indian brave. Scene for three Civil War battles. First Mississippi Cavalry, C.S.A., was organized and equipped here.
 
Erected 1951 by the Mississippi Department of Archives and History.
