A sacred game was practiced here related to the antagonism of the gods with the apparent rivalry of the natural forces. A careful north-south orientation of principal line of the court can be observed in the construction, with a low platform and Sacbé 3 forming the northern boundary. Actually, only part of one of the stone rings still exists, embedded into the slope of the western building. In ancient Mexico, the rules of the game varied according to the region in relation to the number of players, as well as the number of points needed to win. It was played with a large rubber ball and protectors on the waist and the knees were used. The ball could be hit with any part of the body except the arms and hands. This ancient practice survived in some regions of the country, such as is the case of the Mixtec ball
