Regarding Al J. Schneider. Al Schneider was one of Louisville’s most prominent citizens and was credited for being a major spark for development along the city’s waterfront with the opening of the Galt House Hotel in 1972. He founded the Al J. Schneider Company which built two office towers on West Main Street, Waterfront Plaza and One Riverfront Plaza, and operates other hotels in Louisville.
