Regarding A. Vantine Farm. The Regiment de Meuron was originally raised in Switzerland in 1781 for service with the Dutch East India Company. The regiment entered British service in 1795, and served in the Mediterranean and Peninsular campaigns of 1806-1812. They were posted to Canada during the War of 1812.
