After an all night's march from the vicinity of Gower's Ford on the Chickamauga, and a half hour's halt and formation in line near McDonald's House, the Battery with its Brigade reached the ground upon which the Reed's Bridge Tower now stands, and with the 3rd Brigade, took part in checking the advance of the enemy (Liddell's Division) who was in pursuit of troops of Baird's Division. The enemy appearing on the left in heavy masses, the Battery came to this position, in support of Van Derveer's Brigade, and assisted in repulsing successive assaults on its front and left. About 1 p.m. the fighting ceased and after several changes in position the Battery with the Brigade bivouacked for the night in the field near the Dyer House.
Casualties during the day: 2 men wounded.
