September 20, 1863.
Captain Josiah W. Church, Commanding.
1st Lieutenant Henry B. Corbin.
2nd Lieutenant Daniel W. Sawyer.
2nd Lieutenant Jesse B. Fuller.

After an all night's march from the vicinity of Gower's Ford on the Chickamauga, and a half hour's halt and formation in line near McDonald's House, the Battery with its Brigade reached the ground upon which the Reed's Bridge Tower now stands, and with the 3rd Brigade, took part in checking the advance of the enemy (Liddell's Division) who was in pursuit of troops of Baird's Division. The enemy appearing on the left in heavy masses, the Battery came to this position, in support of Van Derveer's Brigade, and assisted in repulsing successive assaults on its front and left. About 1 p.m. the fighting ceased and after several changes in position the Battery with the Brigade bivouacked for the night in the field near the Dyer House.
Casualties during the day: 2 men wounded.

Erected 1890 by the Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park Commission. (Marker Number MT-877.)

this tablet I used the "Chickamauga Battlefield" map, that I purchased at the Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park, Visitor Center, to determine both the marker number for this tablet and the tablet's location in relation to the rest of the park's monuments, markers, and tablets. According to the map it provides the, "numerical listing of all monuments, markers, and tablets on the Chickamauga Battlefield (using the Chick-Chatt NMP Monument Numbering System).”
