1. Combat of the/du Petitcodiac Marker
Inscription. Near this town on 3rd September 1755, a detachment of Major Frye's troops, sent from Fort Cumberland to destroy Acadian settlements on the river and compel the people to surrender for deportation, was defeated by a French force under Charles Deschamps de Boishébert.

Prés de cette ville, le 3 septembre 1755, un detachement des troupes du Major Frye, parti du Fort Cumberland pour detruire les éstablissements Acadiens sur la rivière et forcer le peuple à se soumettre à la déportation, fut défait par une troupe francaise commandée par Charles Deschamps de Boishébert.
