4 Napoleons, 2 3" Rifles.
Lytle's Brigade, Sheridan's Division, McCook's Corps.
September 20, 1863.

1st Lieutenant Henry M. Williams (wounded).

2d Lieutenant John H. Ehlers.
The Battery was not engaged on the 19th and with its Brigade took position near Widow Glenn's early in the morning of the 20th, forming east of the house and remaining there till noon, when by order of General Lytle it moved with the Brigade rapidly to the left and came into position on this ground, the rifle section on the right. As soon as the retreating troops cleared the field a rapid fire of canister was opened on the enemy. Finding the Battery was not supported, and the enemy drawing very close, the Battery was ordered to retreat. Owing to the loss of horses and men in the rifle section, and Lieutenant Williams in command of them being disabled, these guns were abandoned. The Battery opened once on the ridge west of the Crawfish Springs road, but was ordered to withdraw, and accompanied its Brigade to Rossville. Casualties: officers wounded 1; enlisted men killed 3; wounded 11; missing 4; horses abandoned 19; guns and limbers lost, 2
