More about this marker. The original marker went missing between 1976 and 1983. A replacement was requested and the Morris County Heritage Commission made a replacement marker #2.
Following the original marker's discovery in 2014, the Chatham Historical Society, assisted by the Morris County Heritage Commission, which provided marker history and rejuvenation, the marker was installed.
Due to the immense size of the Historic District, a location was chosen in the heart of Chatham's Historic District.
