Capt. T.N. Johnston
A detachment of the company, under Lieut. P.R. Cousins, served one 7-inch Brooke's rifled gun in a position, not in the park, about 233 yards west of this tablet, from May 18 to June 28, 1863, when it was disabled by bursting. The gun was creditably handled in the engagement with the gunboat "Cincinnati", May 27, and shots from it probably disabled and sunk that gunboat.
