1. Centenary College Marker
Inscription. Original site 2 mi. NW. Methodist College, opened Nov. 1, 1841, with the Rev. T.C. Thornton as president, followed by the Hon. D.O. Shattuck. Removed to Jackson, La. as Centenary College of La., 1845.
 
Erected 1966 by Mississippi Historical Commission.
