Inscription. This building is a significant example of St. Augustine's industrial heritage in cigar manufacturing at the beginning of the 20th century. Overall, the building represents a masonry vernacular style because of the use of local materials like the coquina aggregate used for the concrete basement and combination of varied architectural influences designed by local architect Frederick Henderich. After the Great Depression the cigar factory left and the building was subjected to many renovations including the addition of a one-story retail building along the front which was removed during the 1985 restoration.

Listed in the National Register of Historic Places by the U.S. Department of the Interior.

Erected by City of St. Augustine.
