Regarding Memorial to Those Killed in University Protest of 1973. The teacher and three students mentioned on the marker were protesting for reforms to the Autonomous University of Puebla. While details of the incident are unclear, they were shot and killed by snipers that fired on them from a nearby building. Three other people were also shot and killed as they passed by the event on the ground: Víctor Rodríguez, a Volkswagen employee; Carlos Vélez Huerta, a propane gas deliveryman; and a young, unnamed construction worker.
