Named for a Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute Sailing Ship of exploration in the 20th century.

Flight History:
First flight October 3, 1985.
Atlantis was launched into space 33 times and, during 4,848 orbits, flew 126 million miles. In 2011, Atlantis flew the final Space Shuttle mission.
 
Erected 2014 by City of Titusville/U.S. Space Walk Foundation.
