Jetstream T Mk. 1 XX499
Length: 14.37m (47ft 1in) Span: 15.85m (52ft) Height 5.32m (17ft 5in) Max speed: 488km/h (264 mph) Range: 1,260 km (783 miles) Service ceiling: 7620 m (25,000 ft). First Flight: 18th August 1967 This aircraft flew with 45(R) Squadron based at RAF Cranwell, until March 2004 when it made its last flight into RAF Shawbury. It was intended to be used as a vehicle for crash rescue training, however it was bought by Brooklands College and is used as a training airframe for students.

The Jetstream was the final design from Handley Page, and was created to appeal to the US feederliner market. Although the aircraft was too late to save Handley Page, the design proved popular and was purchased and produced by Scottish Aviation, continuing to be built following Scottish Aviation’s merger with Bae in 1977. Bae further developed the design and nearly 400 Jetstreams were built, with some remaining in service with small airlines around the World.
