"Rafał Józef Czerwiakowski (born October 24, 1743, died on August 5, 1816) - Polish anatomist, surgeon, obstetrician, creator of the first surgery department in Poland....During the Kościuszko Uprising he was the chief surgeon of the Polish troops. He was the first organizer of surgical training in Poland. He was the inventor of several surgical instruments....Named the 'father of Polish surgery'." (Submitted on June 20, 2018.)
