1. Canal House Marker

Inscription. The original Canal House was built in 1878 to store the feed and horses of the Georgetown Railroad Company. In the 1890's it was converted into a power generating plant for public transit. Today the Canal House stands as another example of the historic preservation of Old Georgetown.
