1. Dakota Iron Store Marker
Inscription. On this site in March 1910, Bernard Scott Reardon, Sr. and an associate founded the Dakota Iron Store as a wholesale distributor of heavy hardware, farm equipment, and automotive parts and supplies.

In 1975 the corporate name was changed to DaKon and three divisions were added, Pace Manufacturing Company, Hydraulic World, and Outdoor Power Equipment Company.

B. Scott Reardon, Sr. and his wife, Abbie, loved the community of Sioux Falls, and contributed their energies to its benefit.

It is in their memory that this plaque is placed here by the family of B. Scott Reardon, Jr.
