Edificio Art Noveau en el que estuvo El Centro Mercantil. Conserva su candiles originales, elevadores y el gran vitral Tiffany, uno de los más grandes del mundo.

English translation:
The Gran Hotel of Mexico City.
This Art Noveau building is on the location of the previous Mercantile Center. It still retains its original lamps, elevators and its large Tiffany stained glass, one of the largest in the world.

This additional inscription is to the right of the featured marker. Although very old, its message is rather mundane. It reads:

El Combento Rl de San Augustin cuyo es este portal tiene executoria del superior gobierno desta Nueva España para q no ce pueda poner caxon esta esquina Año de 1673.

English translation:
The Convent of Saint Augustine notes that it has ownership of this corridor through the graces of the highest powers of this New Spain and that building on this corner is not allowed. 1673.
