1. Hyattsville Marker

Inscription. In the mid-19th century, C.C. Hyatt established a store and post office at the intersection of the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad and U.S. Route One. In the 1870s, Hyatt subdivided the surrounding farmland into housing lots, creating the nucleus of Hyattsville, Prince George's County's first suburban town.
