Inscription. World famous sharpshooter Annie Oakley was born Phoebe Ann Moses August 13, 1860 in a log cabin 1028 feet due east of here on land that had been in the Swallow family line for 127 years at the time this memorial was dedicated in June 1981 by the Annie Oakley Committee, Inc.
