El 24 de enero de 1793 llegó Don Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla a encargarse del curato de San Felipe, donde realizó importante obra de valor social y político.

El Pueblo del Estado de Guanajuato, su Gobierno y la Presidencia Municipal dedican esta memoria con motivo del 175 aniversario del inicio de la gesta libertaria de 1810 y del 75 aniversario del principio de la revolución social de 1910.

English translation:
On January 24, 1793 Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla arrived to take charge of the San Felipe parish, where he carried out important works of social and political value.

The People of the State of Guanajuato, its Government and the Municipal Presidency dedicate this tribute on the occasion of the 175th anniversary of the beginning of the freedom movements of 1810 and of the 75th anniversary of the beginning of the social revolution of 1910.
