1. Major General Adam Stephen Marker

Inscription. He was commander of a division in the Revolution. Voted for the adoption of the federal constitution while a member of the Virginia Assembly. Granted 130 acres of land for the site of Martinsburg and was the first sheriff of Berkeley County.

Erected 1920 by County Court, through the efforts of William Henshaw Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution.
