Inscription. The baggage car is located just behind the express and mail cars and ahead of the passenger-carrying cars in the train. It is used to transport personal baggage, as well as items such as skis, bicycles, dogs, cats, and other pets accompanying their owners. Number 1582 is a 70' riveted steel car that was donated in 1969 by the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad.
