Inscription. The Sedona Heritage Museum opened in 1998. It focuses on the history of the pioneer settlers of the greater Oak Creek area and those related historic themes that contributed to the settlement and development of Sedona.

The Museum is housed in the Walter and Ruth Jordan farmstead. This property is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It consists of a red sandstone home and fruit packing shed, and a tractor shed.

In the Museum you’ll learn the history of Oak Creek’s first families, Sedona Schnebly – our town’s namesake, the Jordans, movies made in Sedona, ranching & cowboys, area schools, the US Forest Service in Sedona, and see orchard equipment and vintage wagons and vehicles.

The Museum is open every day of the week and hosts numerous students days, speakers, and special events and festivals. Visit the Museum and check out their schedule during your visit.
