1. Walnut Building Marker
Inscription. A war-surplus structure relocated from Lebanon, PA., in 1947 to serve as a temporary student union building. It later became Penn State's first center for minority-student social and cultural life. As the Black Cultural Center and later the Paul Robeson Cultural Center, it hosted diverse speakers, performances, receptions and other activities from 1971 until the Robeson Center moved its current location in 1999.
