1. 90 First Street Marker
Built in the early 1800's, 90 First Street purchased by Daniel Robinson and his wife, the former Lucinda Conkling, in 1852. Known for his business acumen and tenacity, Mr. Robinson was the force behind the creation of the Troy to Boston Railroad. The Robinsons sold this property to their son, John Robinson, in 1882, from whom it passed through several more owners, including Albert and Ida Davitt, who acquired it in 1893.
Ida Davitt was a member of the Emma Willard Association while Albert was a merchant and active in local government. David and Ruth Lipski bought the property in 1919 and transferred it to Russell Sage College on November 28, 1944.
Many buildings at Russell Sage were renovated during the 1940's with proceeds from the estate of John Paine. This house was completely renovated in 1949.
