1. Dixon-Washburn Log House Marker
Inscription. This house originally stood at Logan’s Gap, Union Township. By tradition, it was constructed in 1783 by Indian scouts William Dixon and Cornelius Washburn who became residents of Brown County. Dixon lived in this house until 1800.
 
Erected 1976 by The Ohio Historical Society. House presented by Donald W. and Dotty Martin in honor of her parents Lawrence and Daily Downing. Restoration by the Brown County Historical Society. (Marker Number 2-8.)
