1. Lewis' Expedition Marker

Inscription. Camp of Major (later General) Andrew Lewis in 1756, with Virginia troops, led by Smith, Hogg, Preston, Pearis, Woodson, and others, on way to attack Indians in Ohio. The Tug River and other streams were named by expedition.

Erected 1975 by West Virginia Department of Archives and History.
