About 2 p.m. 4 guns of the battery followed Johnson's Brigade to this position and participated in the struggle for the possession of the northern crest aiding in repulsing repeated counter attacks and giving valuable support to the assaulting column till the close of the action. Two guns were detached with Gregg's Brigade during the afternoon and in the final struggle were moved up the hollow by hand firing the closing shots down the northern slope. casualties during the battle, men killed 3 officers wounded 1 men wounded 12 horses killed 4 horses wounded 4.
