1. North and South Marker
Inscription. At Kessler's Cross Lanes (5 miles east), Aug. 26, 1861 and at Carnifex Ferry (7 miles west) Sept. 10, 186l, battles occurred between Confederates under Gen. J. B. Floyd and Union troops under Col. E. B. Tyler and Gen. W. S. Rosecrans.
